Legal status and management

Because of its wide range and higher numbers, Eurasian lynx is classified as Least Concern on the IUCN red list of Threatened species.

However, some populations in Europe are considered as endangered because of the small numbers of individuals and their geographic isolation. Lynx are considered endangered species in Slovenia and therefore protected by the international and national regulations. Those importantly shape lynx management in the country.
