What threatens the brown bear

While Slovenia is covered by well-preserved natural landscapes that form some of the best brown bear habitat in Central Europe, it is still human-dominated.

The only possible way for bears to survive and thrive in this landscape is to co-exist with people, but this is unfortunately not always easy.

A network of roads and scattered villages lace the otherwise pristine landscape, reinforcing human presence and leaving few areas devoid of humans.
